Omnicom's DAS Acquires Piece Of Brazil's In Press

Omnicom continues to expand its footprint in Brazil. Earlier this year, Omnicom's TBWA took a majority stake in Brazil's advertising agency Mood. Now, another Omnicom unit, DAS Group is acquiring a minority stake in In Press, said to be the third largest public relations agency in Brazil. In Press, as the majority owner, will function independently but collaboratively with DAS.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In Press is already a familiar face with the holding company, having maintained an affiliate relationship with DAS public relations agency Porter Novelli since 1999. "We are excited to formalize our long-standing relationship with In Press," said Dale Adams, Chairman and CEO of DAS. "Brazil is an important market for both our clients and our businesses, and this partnership will provide significant opportunities for growth in the years ahead."

As for the reasoning behind switching from an informal to formal arrangement, an OMC spokesperson say the holding company had expressed an interest in formalizing the relationship with In Press over the past few years, and Kiki Moretti, the founder and CEO, decided that now was a good time.

In particular, this more official relationship will enable In Press to access additional resources and provide international reach.

"Formally joining Omnicom's DAS Group of Companies means we will be able to offer clients marketing communications services throughout the world," said Moretti.

Founded in 1988, the PR agency has more than 150 clients in various market segments, including corporate, consumer, media & entertainment, health, technology/telecoms.

The agency offers services including media relations, crisis management, internal communications, strategic planning, training, branded content, events communications and digital and social content, and has offices in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasiia. There are no plans at this time to change its name or move offices.
