Justin Cox Named Head of Strategy At Heat

Industry veteran Justin Cox is joining full-service creative agency Heat as Director of Strategy.

Cox, based in San Francisco is tasked with leading Heat's strategy team, working with Heat clients to determine the role of their brands in the lives and cultures of their target audiences. He will also examine ways to boost the impact of marketing strategy on campaigns and devise metrics to assess campaign success.

Previously Cox was with DDB California, where he oversaw the office’s strategy practice, working across agency accounts such as ConAgra, Facebook and Partnership for Drug Free America. He also played an integral role in new business at Omnicom shop.

Prior to DDB, Cox served as Strategy Director at Pereira & O'Dell, providing strategic guidance to brands such as Skype, Intel, Guitar Center, and Corona.

Heat's Managing Director Mike Barrett is a former colleague and that relationship is credited with bringing him on board. Cox succeeds Scott Redick, who has left the agency.

Heat works with brands including Electronic Arts, Kendall-Jackson, Bank of the West, Levi Strauss & Co. and Teva. The agency was recently named among the “Most Effective Independent Agencies in North America” by Effie Worldwide.
