Sharethrough Raises $10M In Round Led By British Sky Broadcasting

Sharethrough, a native ad exchange headquartered in San Francisco, on Tuesday announced it has raised $10 million in a strategic investment round led by British Sky Broadcasting, which invested $5 million. Current Sharethrough investors also participated, including Floodgate, Elevation Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners and Silver Creek Ventures.

Jamie West, deputy managing director of Sky Media, the ad sales house of British Sky Broadcasting, will be a board observer of Sharethrough, effective immediately. Sky Media will also offer all of its clients access to Sharethrough’s software, per a release.

“For us, this strategic investment will not only allow us to partner with Sky, but it allows us to rapidly increase our European expansion plans,” Sharethrough wrote in a blog post announcing the $10 million round. The company’s European expansion plans were on display two weeks ago as well, when it acquired VAN, a UK-based content platform.
