iHeartMedia Plans iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina

With Hispanic audiences growing rapidly and Latin music becoming increasingly popular in the mainstream, iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel Communications) is capitalizing on the genre’s momentum with its latest iHeartRadio Music Festival spinoff, the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina.

The Latin music concert will bring together leading Latin music stars for live performances at the Forum in Los Angeles on Nov. 22.

The iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina, produced by iHeartMedia in collaboration with Live Nation, will feature performances by artists including Ricky Martin, Roberto Tapia, Alejandra Guzmán, Prince Royce, La Original Banda El Limón, Daddy Yankee, and Jesse & Joy, among others.

iHeartMedia President of Entertainment Enterprises John Sykes explained: “Latin music has shown incredible growth on iHeartRadio -- so we decided to use the great format and cultural firepower of the iHeartRadio Music Festival to create a festival that celebrates these great artists and their music.”

The broadcast giant is promoting the festival with a four-week nationwide sweepstakes, offering fans a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles to attend the concert. The campaign is running on all the company’s Spanish-language stations, as well as on the digital iHeartRadio platform in major markets. iHeartMedia President of National Programming Platforms Tom Poleman noted that the company’s Spanish and English-language radio stations reach 93% of the U.S. Hispanic population.

The Fiesta Latina is just the most recent in a series of iHeartRadio festival spinoffs, including the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party, the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Concert Tour and the iHeartRadio Country Festival.

Clear Channel Communications rebranded itself as iHeartMedia last month, covering the company’s live events, broadcast radio, Internet, mobile, social, and TV. Clear Channel Outdoor retained its old brand identity. The corporate name of the publicly traded company will continue to be known as Clear Channel Holdings.
