Olson To Be Acquired By DC-Area Consultant For $295 Million

Minneapolis-based ad agency Olson has agreed to be acquired by Fairfax, VA-based consultant ICF International for $295 million. The deal is expected to be completed in November subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions.

For ICF, Olson is the latest in a string of marketing services acquisitions that include Ironworks, Citytech and Mostra.

“Together, ICF and Olson will guide client through this new digital revolution across all markets, offering the ability to efficiently and effectively reach out to customers and stakeholders,” said ICF International CEO Sudhakar Kesavan.

Olson, which has about 545 employees, had pro forma revenues of $126 million in 2013 and has had double-digit revenue growth for the first seven months of 2014, ICF said.

Olson CEO John Partilla said: “We are thrilled to be joining ICF, which we see as an excellent platform to drive our future growth, domestically, internationally and across client categories.”

The purchase agreement includes digital assets and intellectual property including Olson’s CRM platform Tally, the agency’s planning tool, Social Media Aggregator and segmentation tool, Brand Anthropology.
