Sears Loses Appliance Leadership To Lowe's

Sears may lose its top-appliance-seller status to Lowe's as Sears' CEO Eddie Lampert tries to remake the department-store chain. Sears had 28% of the major appliance market in the U.S. last year, but it might drop to 10% by the end of 2016, says an analyst at Credit Suisse Group in New York. If Lowe's picks up even a quarter of that share, it would be top appliance seller by the end of 2016.
