Americans will (try to) eat some 46 million
turkeys during Thanksgiving. Good luck with getting one cheap. Supplies are dropping, and when that happens you pay more; 16% more. U.S. grocers are currently paying the highest prices ever at the
wholesale level. Turkey is $1.24 a pound in the week ended Nov. 10, meaning supermarkets won't have discount leverage.
