Fewer Birds Mean Higher Prices This Thanksgiving

Americans will (try to) eat some 46 million turkeys during Thanksgiving. Good luck with getting one cheap. Supplies are dropping, and when that happens you pay more; 16% more. U.S. grocers are currently paying the highest prices ever at the wholesale level. Turkey is $1.24 a pound in the week ended Nov. 10, meaning supermarkets won't have discount leverage.
