CNBC Employs Kensho To Enhance Financial News

NBCUniversal’s CNBC has invested in Kensho, a real-time analytics platform for investment professionals that will be used on-air by business journalists.

Kensho says its analytics platforms can answer millions of complex financial questions.

"This strategic collaboration with Kensho gives us a powerful new tool to help deliver unique analysis to our viewers and users with remarkable speed and insight,” states Pat Fili-Krushel, chairman, NBCUniversal News Group.

Beginning on Thursday, November 20, CNBC will debut “Kensho Stats Box,” enabling CNBC journalists to use Kensho technology for research and analytic insights that will provide a historical context around market-changing events.

"Since the stock ticker was first televised in the 1990s, CNBC has always been advancing the movement toward more transparent markets," said Daniel Nadler, Kensho CEO.

The two companies have also agreed to work together on creating digital financial market products for ordinary investors, the first of which will be launched next year.

CNBC will also provide Kensho with content, including its breaking news and market coverage for integration, for Kensho systems in financial institutions.
