Bahlsen Hosts 'Crappy Cookie Exchange' For The Holidays

Bahlsen, the European cookie maker that's currently expanding its U.S. business, is launching a Twitter presence here with a "Crappy Cookie Exchange" social media promotion.

From Dec. 17 to 21, celebrants can tweet original photos of their burned, misshapen or otherwise imperfect holiday cookies to @BahlsenCookies with #CrappyCookieExchange, or post them on Bahlsen's U.S. Facebook page (now showing 20,000 "likes"), for a chance to be one of 25 who will receive a box of Bahlsen's cookies by Dec. 25.

The company is positioning its cookies as ideal for holiday celebrations or gifts because they're affordable and available at the supermarket, but "just as beautiful as pricey bakery treats" — and free of preservatives, artificial colors and GMOs.

"Baking isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and the holiday rush can lead even the most seasoned baker to a burnt batch," says Federico Meade, president, Bahlsen North America. "If it can’t be homemade, let it be baked by Bahlsen.”

Contest details are available on the brand's social media pages.
