NBC Taps Winiarski As EVP, Ad Sales Planning

NBC has hired Turner Broadcasting advertising veteran Tom Winiarski for a newly created position -- executive vice president of advertising sales planning and monetization.

Winiarski most recently had been senior vice president/national sales manager, Turner Cross Divisional Partnerships for TBS and TNT. He will report to Linda Yaccarino, chairman of advertising sales/client partnerships of NBCUniversal.

Winiarski will have oversight of sales planning and inventory management of the company’s two broadcast networks, 17 cable networks and more than 50 digital properties. He will be charged with maximizing revenue and serving clients’ needs through data-driven efforts and inventory analytics.

Yaccarino stated: “The combination of our unparalleled collection of original video content with our advanced strategy and analytics capabilities will enable Tom and our entire sales team to continue pushing boundaries to offer our clients the most sophisticated media plans in the business.”

While at Turner, Winiarski was responsible for revenue and inventory management, pricing and sales research at the Turner Entertainment division. He also headed cross-portfolio marketing partnerships for advertisers and worked closely with Time Warner global marketing.

His previous advertising posts included A&E Networks and Katz Communications, where he started his career.
