KirchMedia GmbH & Co. KGaA announced that it will shed 34% of its workforce, or 151 jobs, by the end of 2003. KirchMedia management and workers said that of a total of 544 employees, 82 will leave the
company by year-end and 69 more by 2003. Positions will be found for some in other units of the company. KirchMedia will retain 355 workers, the company added. Despite filing for insolvency,
KirchMedia said it will continue operations until further notice.
