Entertainment Industry Wants ICANN To Police Piracy

The Motion Picture Association of America and Recording Industry Association of America want ICANN to crack down on domain names that are used for piracy, the Volokh Conspiracy reports, via the Washington Post. Writer David Post says allowing ICANN to “leverage its control over fundamental Internet technical infrastructure so as to regulate the content of Internet communications” is a “dreadful” idea.
