AMC Names Collier President, GM Of SundanceTV

With continued strong results at AMC, the cable network will give its president Charlie Collier some added new responsibility -- with SundanceTV.

Collier, president and general manager of AMC, will take on the same title at SundanceTV. As of February 2015, the channel has approximately 57.3 million subscribers.

Collier, who have been with AMC for nine years, has run the network during some big growth, such as groundbreaking TV rating/critical hits “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead” on AMC. He will continue to report to Ed Carroll, COO for AMC Networks.

Sarah Barnett was the previous Sundance chief executive. Late last year, Barnett took over as president/general manager of BBC America, while continuing to oversee Sundance. In October, AMC Network bought a 50% stake in BBC America.

“Running AMC and Sundance under common management makes good sense for both networks, which are heavily focused on high-end drama,” Carroll stated.

In February 2014, the channel had a marketing change -- a new logo and new name. It was previously the Sundance Channel.
