UK Online Spend Is Up But Low Appetite For Subscription Sites

UK adults are prepared to pay only 92p a month to access news websites, less than email, search engines or online video, according to a YouGov survey commissioned by the IAB. However, the survey of more than 2,000 adults found consumers were prepared to pay even less for social media, online games and price comparison sites. The figures are part of the IAB’s annual report, which says says UK digital ad spend rose 14% to a record GBP7.2bn during 2014, an increase of almost GBP936m, driven by the increasing adoption of digital devices.
