Subaru, Honda, Porsche Big Winners In KBB 'Brand Image' Awards

Subaru is the “Most Trusted Brand” and “Best Performance Brand” in the 2015 Kelley Blue Book Market Intelligence’s Brand Watch study. The study is based on an annual online brand and model perception tracking survey of over 12,000 in-market new-vehicle shoppers, per the digital auto shopping, comparison and research site.

Also winning big in Kelley Blue Book’s Brand Image awards are Honda, for best overall brand and best value brand; General Motors’ GMC truck and SUV marque, for most refined brand; and Mazda for best car styling. In the pickup truck category, Ford wins a Brand Image award for best overall truck for its F-Series line. Ford has now been ranked best overall truck brand in the KBB study for the sixth out of seven times Kelley Blue Book has announced the award.

In the luxury category, Porsche is a multiple award winner, including overall luxury winner. The brand also wins for most refined, best performance, and best styling. Mercedes-Benz won a Brand Image award for being the most trusted luxury brand, beating out the winner for the previous two years, Lexus. Kelley Blue Book says Mercedes-Benz has won a Brand Image award every year since the inception of the program in 2008. Another repeat winner is another GM brand, Buick, which takes an award for best value luxury brand.

Kelley Blue Book says consumers gave Honda kudos for the brand’s affordability, “cool” factor, driving comfort, driving performance, durability/reliability, exterior styling, fuel efficiency, interior layout, prestige/sophistication, reputation, ruggedness and safety. The company says strong consumer perception of the Accord, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey helped drive Honda’s success as well.

Subaru was helped by its Impreza, Outback, Forester and the its newest nameplate, the BRZ sports coupe. Mazda has also won its first Brand Image awards because of the designs of the MX-5 Miata, Mazda6 and Mazda3, the online market says.
