REVOLVING DOOR: R/GA Expands Planning Team

R/GA promoted Andrea Ring to senior vice president, planning, charged with overseeing the agency's planning group. Joining the group is Graham Phillips as managing director of communications planning. Ring is based in New York and reports to Bob Greenberg, CEO, chairman and founder, and Seth Solomons, executive vice president, chief global client services officer, managing director of New York. Ring has worked at R/GA for the past nine years, helping brands such as Nike, Google, and Samsung rethink their businesses and develop relationships with consumers. Previously, she worked as a brand planner with Bigchalk.com, J. Walter Thompson and Digital Pulp Advertising. Phillips worked at BBDO, JWT, BBH, BSSP and Ogilvy and Mather over the course of a 19-year career. He worked on campaigns for brands such as SAP, Kraft, RitzCarlton, SAB Miller, Axe, LG, Microsoft, Nestle, Kimberly Clark and ExxonMobil. "The core tenants of planning are more relevant than ever, but R/GA's marriage of storytelling and systematic thinking gives us a unique perspective to better understand and reach consumers in the connected age," said Ring. "I'm excited to have Graham join the team as his combination of classical training and technical experience is strongly suited to break the rules, getting beyond the expected to the unexpected."
