Yahoo Creates SVP Role Focusing On Consumer Marketing

Yahoo has created a new role to focus on consumer marketing, appointing Debra Berman to senior vice president. In her new role, it's all about the consumer experience, which she knows well. 

Berman comes to Yahoo from JCPenney, where she served as CMO focusing on the revival of the customer base and the brand's health during the company's critical turnaround.

Berman has a strong focus in retail. In her new role at Yahoo, Berman brings a background in helping brands define and connect with consumers, and an expertise to drive marketing performance. 

Prior to joining JCPenney, Berman focused on growing global iconic and emerging brands s the VP of marketing strategy and engagement for Kraft Foods. Her career also includes time spent in advertising, brand strategy and management consulting. She has her MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA and graduated from The University of Pennsylvania. 

Berman will relocate to California with her family to join the Yahoo team in Sunnyvale, per the company, and report to Kathy Savitt, CMO and Head of Media at Yahoo.
