Innocean WW Names Jay Rhee To Oversee Europe

Earlier this month, Innocean Worldwide named Jeremy Craigen to the newly created role of global chief creative officer. Now, the agency is promoting Jay (Sang Hoon) Rhee to President and CEO of Europe. He will be based in the UK.

Rhee succeeds Steve Jun, a founding member of Innocean Worldwide who held the CEO Europe post for about a year and a half. It was not clear whether Jun was leaving the agency or taking on a new role there.

Rhee will focus on growing the agency's business, particularly as it expands beyond its automotive clients. Owned by the Hyundai Group, the agency was initially launched in 2005 to support the Hyundai and Kia brands.

In his new position, Rhee will help the agency attract new business through “intrapreneurship” which he believes is key to helping to create a culture of true innovation.

Rhee will supervise a workforce of more than 250 staffers across the agency’s eight European offices.

"Innocean is the world’s youngest global network; born in the digital age," says Rhee. "The time is right for us to disrupt convention and tease creative boundaries to help expand our portfolio of clients. And though we will continue to service Hyundai and KIA at a time when their ambitions are growing, our motivation and hunger to target new sectors is at an all-time high."

Rhee has over 25 years of experience in global marketing and communications. He originally joined Innocean in 2005 after the agency established an office in Seoul, South Korea. Most recently he worked in Russia as president and CEO of Innocean's cluster of emerging market offices comprising Russia, India and Turkey.
