How Searches Turn Into A Tracking Device

Drawbridge, which specializes in tracking users across devices, has linked 1.2 billion users across 3.6 billion devices -- up from 1.5 billion devices in the year-ago period, according to stats cited by MIT. Along with Drawbridge, companies like Crosswise and Tapad are making it possible to learn about consumer devices and interests by tracking billions of ad requests a day from Internet ad exchanges selling in real-time.
