Cecil The Lion Will Live On As Beanie Baby

According to a press release on August 3, Ty Warner has created a Cecil the lion Beanie Baby in memory of the big cat who became world-famous after he was lured out of a national park in Zimbabwe and shot by an American tourist. According to Ty, 100% of the profit from sales of the Cecil plush toy will go to the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit of the University of Oxford, the group of researchers who was studying the lion when he was killed and continues to work toward wildlife conservation all over Africa.
