Target To Rebrand Smaller Stores; New Name Is ... Target

The Minnesota-based big-box retailer is rebranding its smaller, urban CityTarget and TargetExpress stores as regular Targets, it revealed Tuesday in a blog post. Target moved into the landmark Louis Sullivan Center building on Chicago’s State Street — previously occupied by Carson Pirie Scott — under the CityTarget brand in 2012, as part of a plan to woo urbanites and compete with Wal-Mart's Market and Express store concepts.
