Jellyfish Appoints New Head Of Its U.S. Agency

Digital shop Jellyfish has appointed Jim Hamilton managing director, head of U.S. Agency. Jellyfish, founded in the UK 16 years ago, has U.S. offices in New York, Baltimore and San Francisco.

Hamilton will be responsible for Jellyfish’s digital strategy, market expansion and evolution to a full-service agency.

The shop started as a Web site design firm and has gradually expanded its scope of services to include search engine optimization, social, creative, display, analytics and other capabilities. 

Hamilton will be based in Baltimore and will work alongside Kevin Buerger, who is also a managing director, and who established the agency’s U.S. business in 2009.  

Among Hamilton's top priorities is to continue recruiting top talent. Earlier in the year, Jellyfish reported that its annual U.S. billings had surpassed $100 million and that U.S. headcount jumped about five fold in the last two years. Currently the U.S. headquarters in Baltimore employs about 60 staffers. Globally, the firm has about 275 employees.

Most recently, Hamilton served as vice president and managing director for iCrossing, leading the agency’s New York City and Washington DC offices.

He began his career as a marketer for technology companies APC and Sun Microsystems before moving to the agency side, including strategy and account leadership roles at Proxicom.
