OMD Taps Julie Fleischer To Lead Its Retail Operation

OMD, part of Omnicom Media Group, has named former Kraft Foods Group executive Julie Fleischer Managing Director of its Chicago-based retail practice. In her new role Fleischer will lead the 75-person team servicing such retail brands as Walgreens, PetSmart, Pier 1 and Pep Boys.  

Fleischer joins OMD following six years at Kraft where she rose to Senior Director, Data + Content +Media, overseeing Kraft’s Customer Relationship  Management organization, content marketing strategy, and programmatic media.

In that role Fleischer designed and launched a combined data management, ad platform, and ad stack which is credited for driving a 13 percentage point improvement in digital media ROI in 2014. She also rebuilt one of the company’s key digital assets, KraftRecipes.com. The rebuild is said to have driven huge increases in traffic and other KPIs.

Prior to joining Kraft in 2009, Fleischer spent s several years at Publicis Groupe’s Digitas, where as VP/Group Director she led the account planning practice in Chicago, for clients including Kraft, Disney Parks and Resorts, MillerCoors and Whirlpool. Earlier she held posts at Sara Lee Bakery, and Amoco Oil Co.
