Ad Agency HZDG Acquires Production Shop Burn

Client demand for video and content capabilities has led ad agency HZDG to acquire content production shop Burn. Terms weren’t disclosed, but reports put the value at under $5 million.

As part of the deal, Burn will become part of HZDG and its operations will be integrated with the agency. As a unit within HZDG, Burn will service HZDG clients while continuing to build its own roster of clients, which currently  includes the United States Postal Service, Sony, DC Lottery and Dominion Power & Light.

Burn principal Andrew Fetchko joins HZDG as creative director of video and in-house director. Based in Baltimore, he will oversee HZDG’s growing team of producers, motion designers, videographers, compositors and editors.

"We reached a point where it made sense to bring this in-house -- faster turnaround and the ability to be more hands on," says Chad Stockton, creative director, HZDG Baltimore. "Andrew is a great guy, and we've worked with his team for some time now.”

HZDG employs a staff of over 175 working in offices in New York City, Silicon Valley, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Clients include Under Armour and Hilton.
