Wilson Kicks Off Connected X Football At CES

Not all of the many connected things in The Internet of Things are stationary.

Some of them actually can be very active, as in flying through the air.

At CES this week, Wilson showed off its coming Bluetooth connected football.

The sporting goods manufacturer first added motion tracking to its basketball a while back, as I wrote about last year (The Wilson X Connected Basketball: Managing the Net of Data).

And now that same sensing technology will be built into the Wilson X Connected Football.

A built-in sensor measures speed, distance, catches, drops and spiral efficiency, with all info sent to a mobile app for personal evaluation.

Sensors that can quickly track and relay information back are becoming ubiquitous. And now they will be flying through the air.
