Nelson Named JWT NY's Head Of Content Production

J. Walter Thompson New York has named Anthony Nelson head of content production, a new post at the agency. He will report to Brent Choi, who was promoted to chief creative officer for J. Walter Thompson New York and Canada last October.

Nelson, previously with Goodby Silverstein & Partners New York, will oversee the development of video and film content for the agency’s flagship office.

He takes on some of the responsibilities and duties that were held by Lisa Setten, JWT NY’s former head of integrated production, who recently left to take the position of Executive Director of Integrated Production at Interpublic’s MullenLowe US.

Nelson will also work closely with Jennifer McBride, JWT NY’s head of digital.

Nelson served as director of production at GS&P New York until the agency shuttered the office last summer. Prior to joining Goodby, Nelson was with BBDO for nearly three years, serving as group executive producer for GE. Aside from managing the brand’s advertising production within the agency, he also helped create and lead a global network of producers and storytellers to create content for various GE platforms worldwide.

Prior to BBDO, Nelson was at FCB New York, and was part of the Oreo Daily Twist team that won a Cyber Grand Prix at the 2013 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

From 2006 to 2011, he was with Crispin Porter + Bogusky, where he served as executive integrated production lead for Microsoft, Nike, Best Buy and Old Navy and produced campaigns for Burger King and Volkswagen.
