180solutions Acquires Easy Message

  • February 9, 2005
Adware company 180solutions announced Tuesday that it acquired instant messaging service Easy Message--which creates an interface between the major instant messaging networks, including AOL, Yahoo!, and MSN, so that users who download the program can send instant messages to others across portals. The deal closed at the beginning of February, said Todd Sawicki, 180solutions senior director of marketing.

Web users who download the service, now named Zango Messenger, will receive adware served by 180solutions, said Sawicki. The approximately one million users who were already using Easy Messenger will be able to continue to use that service without adware, said Sawicki. --Wendy Davis
