GroupM's Essence Opens 3 New Offices

Essence the GroupM digital agency has opened three new offices in Chicago, Shanghai and Sydney. They are the first locations to be added to the agency’s footprint since it was acquired by WPP last November.

Each operation will be run a relocating Essence veteran. Chicago is being overseen by Eric Kirtcherff, global director of advertising operations. Sydney is being run by Anna Stoyanova, the agency’s APAC operations director and head media for Australia. Shanghai is headed by client partner Al Chen.

Job one for each is to recruit local talent to round out their office staffs which are being supported by GroupM resources and infrastructure.

The announced office expansion follows the promotion last week of Jesse Cahill to North American Head of Media at the agency.
