PGA, Chase And 'Bon Appetit' Partner For "Champions Of The Course"

Like most sports, golf is a natural pairing with food — at least for the spectators. Chase Sapphire Preferred is joining forces with the PGA of America and Bon Appétit to celebrate this match made in heaven – or rather, on the green.

The new cross-promotional campaign, called “Champions of the Course,” will share tips, advice, and some quirky personal rituals from top players in golf and epicurean cuisine.

The program includes custom content in the April, May, June and July issues of the magazine, leading up to the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ, scheduled for July 25-31, 2016.

The custom content highlights cooking advice from world-renowned chefs Masaharu Moriomoto, Susan Feniger, Jose Garces and Seamus Mullen, as well as golf pointers from pros and teachers across the country including Tom Henderson, Alison Curdt, Matt Dobyns, Miles Blundell, Doug Steffen, Derek Gutierrez and Alice Plain.

The campaign will culminate on July 27 during the PGA Championship, when PGA of America will host a private “Champions of the Course” event for VIPS, featuring food prepared in person by celebrity chefs.

The PGA of America partnership is just one in a series of collaborations for Bon Appétit and Chase. From April 28-May 1, they are partnering with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and a number of big hospitality brands to host “Vegas Uncork’d,” giving foodies a chance to sample the cuisine and meet top chefs from the city’s famous restaurants.

This year’s Vegas Uncork’d includes a mystery dinner led by Emeril Lagasse; a sushi omakase tasting with Nobu Matsuhisa, of Nobu restaurant fame; the “Grand Tasting” featuring master chefs at Caesars Palace; brunch with Giada De Laurentiis at her namesake restaurant at The Cromwell; a culinary retrospective with Guy Savoy celebrating the 10th anniversary of his namesake restaurant at Caesars Palace; and “Beat the Heat,” a live competition with Gordon Ramsay.
