Los Angeles-based Initiative announced Wednesday that it hired Michael Hayes as vice president in charge of interactive marketing. In this role, he will oversee the company's interactive media and digital marketing services for Initiative's clients, including Bank of America and Cox Interactive. In the past, Hayes headed up the media services and strategic planning group for 10th Degree, an Irvine, Calif.-based interactive agency. Hayes also worked for the Walt Disney Company, launching the Internet initiatives for the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney Travel Company. Hayes also helped the Los Angeles Times to start TimesLink--one of the first online newspapers, distributed through the Prodigy network.
