Clear Channel Digs Into Sunset Strip With New OOH Placements

Clear Channel Outdoor Americas (CCOA) announced the completion of a set of 11 out-of-home (OOH) placements near the Sunset Millennium property in West Hollywood, CA.

The billboards go live in June.

Sunset Millenium is a $300 million set of new condominiums, hotel rooms, retail and restaurant space in Hollywood. The billboards will offer access to a highly influential and likely affluent group of consumers in the Sunset Strip. The strip is surrounded by the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills and Hollywood neighborhoods.

The displays themselves consist of seven walls standing from 80 to 87 feet tall and four vertical bulletins that are 60 feet tall and 20 feet wide. Each display is expected to deliver over 1.1 million impressions monthly. There are 11 displays in all.

CCOA already has a significant presence in Los Angeles, with 8,100 total displays across the city, 47 of which digital.

“Sunset Millennium offers brands one of the most centrally located advertising hubs in the entire country," tated Bob McCuin, president of sales for CCOA.. He added it gave advertisers an opportunit to "reach the affluent audiences who make their way through the heart of the Sunset Strip every day.”

The Sunset Millennium project itself has been a long time coming—it was first proposed in the late 1990s, but only received final approval in 2013.

The Sunset Strip is in the midst of a major facelift, as many iconic venues are becoming upper-crust hotels, shopping boutiques and condominium complexes.
