As history’s greatest composers--whether Mozart or Green Day--have made it as popular cellular phone ringtones, Showtime is moving the technology toward TV theme songs, as in the case of its provocative series "The L Word." The theme song to the Showtime series--about the lives and loves of lesbian couples and starring such actresses as Jennifer Beals and Pam Grier--became available for downloading Tuesday. The show airs Sundays, and opened its second season Feb. 20.

Showtime plans to offer additional ringtones and other downloads from its new sho.com mobile store, which also launched on Tuesday.
