Time Inc. Adds 2 New Categories, Execs: Fashion & Luxury, Lifestyle

Time Inc.’s EVP Evelyn Webster is changing  the structure of 17 titles. Today, she announced the creation of two new category groups: Fashion & Luxury and Lifestyle.

MaryAnn Bekkedahl has been appointed president of Fashion & Luxury and Charlie Kammerer has been promoted to president of Lifestyle.

Webster will continue to oversee all 17 brands, but will have this new layer of senior management reporting to her.

Bekkedahl will oversee InStyle, StyleWatch, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure and Departures.

“I'm most excited by [Time Inc.'s] passion for building new businesses off the success of these iconic media brands,” Bekkedahl told Publishers Daily. “Coming from a startup, I'm thrilled to have the assets of brand affinity, audience, data and content to work with in launching new products and services that will be major contributors to Time Inc.'s future in the fashion and luxury arenas."

Bekkedahl joins the company from e-commerce and ad-tech startup Keep Holdings. She will take on her new role at Time Inc. on June 1.

Kammerer -- formerly group publisher of Real Simple, Food & Wine, Cooking Light, My Recipes and Health since May 2015 -- begins in his new role immediately. Kammerer’s portfolio will include Real Simple, Cozi, Cooking Light, MyRecipes, Health, Sunset and Coastal Living.

Time, Fortune, Money, Essence and Southern Living will continue to report directly to Webster.

In these newly-created roles, Bekkedahl and Kammerer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of their respective brands’ development, per a statement. They will drive revenue diversification, digital and video growth and expand new products and services, in addition to managing the core business.

The editor and publisher of each brand will now report to their category president.

“This new structure will enable us to significantly accelerate many of the activities we have underway across our portfolio as we transform our business,” Webster stated.
