'Nylon' Launches Facebook Live Series Of Summer Music

Nylon magazine has jumped aboard the Facebook Live train with “The Anywhere Series,” in which a live video music performance set in New York City will air every Thursday this summer.

The first of the series featured an acoustic performance by Yumi Zouma in Washington Square Park.

According to Nylon, the “unplugged, unofficial, and unannounced” show had nearly 5,000 fans watching in real time online, tuning in to see the band perform beneath the shade of a tree.

The live stream -- which is saved as a regular video on Facebook after streaming has ended -- has reached 220,000 people so far.

Nylon says this is just the first in a summer series of “surprise shows” in New York City: “You never know who will be playing or where we’ll be.”
