Chris Macdonald Named President McCann North America

McCann Worldgroup’s Chris Macdonald has been promoted to President of McCann North America. He has been President of the New York office since 2013 and will continue oversight of New York with the expansion of his responsibilities.

Macdonald is tasked with bringing the strong leadership skills he displayed in New York to the broader NA region.

Over the last few years, the New York agency has added major new clients including the New York State Lottery, Reckitt Benckiser, Choice Hotels, MGM Resorts, and State Street Advisors.

The office has also grown organically during that time with additional assignments from existing clients such as Verizon, Nestlé, and MasterCard.

The last executive to hold the NA presidency was Hank Summy, who shifted to a post at sibling agency MRM in 2013, around the time the Macdonald was named head of the New York Office.

Macdonald will continue to report to McCann Worldgroup President Luca Lindner.

In addition to the New York office, Macdonald will now oversee Hispanic agency Casanova//McCann, McCann Detroit, twofifteenmccann San Francisco, McCann Minneapolis and MacLaren McCann Canada, which consists of agency offices in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
