Michael Parkes Tapped As First CRO At VideoAmp

On Tuesday, VideoAmp announced the appointment of Michael Parkes as its first chief revenue officer. The newly created position at the cross-screen optimization company was established to capitalize on the rapid growth in the advanced TV and overall video fields.

Parkes states that his “focus will be to grow the sales organization and educate brands, agencies, trading desks, publishers and broadcasters on the value VideoAmp can add to their video advertising.”

The hire moved sales management away from Jay Prasad, the company's chief business officer, who "will continue to oversee partnerships, marketing, and client success, now do more corporate strategy, and work with the board and investors more closely," Prasad told Real-Time Daily via email.

Before joining VideoAmp, Parkes was SVP of sales at Amobee; prior to that, he held the same role at Adconion Direct.

Parkes also served as president of UK-based advertising network eType, after holding the position of sales director for CNET Networks, leading the sales of online ad campaigns in Australia and the Asia Pacific markets.

Prasad described other plans for company growth: "We will be announcing our EU expansion and two key hires expected in August."
