'Players Tribune' Taps Schoenfeld As VP, Brand Partnership Sales

Jared Schoenfeld, the new VP of brand partnership sales for The Players’ Tribune, will be responsible for “bringing in new business for TPT and selling multimedia partnerships across a variety of platforms,” according to the company.

“It's been important for us to integrate brands into The Players’ Tribune in an authentic way. Now with Jared leading sales efforts, we’ll be bringing more partners onto the platform to support the innovative branded content we are developing,” stated president of TPT, Jaymee Messler.

Messler added that Schoenfeld has already fostered partnerships with Samsung and Tyson Foods at TPT, suggesting that Schoenfeld has been at the company for a few weeks.

Last week, The Players’ Tribune announced a new content collaboration with Samsung Electronics America, Inc. TPT will produce athlete-driven, short-form 360-degree videos and photography using Samsung Gear 360, the company’s 360-degree camera used to create VR content.

In June, TPT announced a new integrated content partnership with Tyson Foods, featuring branded essays, a video series and photo galleries starring legendary athletes.

Schoenfeld told Publishers Daily that his top priority as VP of brand partnership sales will be “working with our editorial team to develop engaging, innovative content to take to brands as well as building out our sales team.”

While he did not give any specifics, Schoenfeld said he is working on several new partnerships that will be announced in the coming months, which “involve new content ideas tailored to brand partners and also connecting brands to our existing fan-favorite editorial and video formats.”

Prior to joining The Players’ Tribune, Schoenfeld was the managing director of new stadium partnerships at the Miami Dolphins and held sales positions at CAA, The Madison Square Garden Company and the Phoenix Suns. In 2015, Schoenfeld was named a Forbes 30 under 30 winner.

A few weeks ago, TPT also announced the appointment of Michael Crotty as its new CFO. He was previously SVP of affiliate revenue and business operations at Showtime Networks.
