OK, Yeah, More Women Promoted to Creative Director Positions

Earlier this week, Crispin Porter + Bogusky Boulder announced the promotion of four women to the position of creative director. Now, McCann New York has announced that it has promoted Susan Young and Daniela Vojta to executive creative directors.

Of the promotions, McCann New York Co-Chief Creative Officer Sean Bryan said: "Every once in a while, you are lucky enough to get a team who not only does great work themselves, but gets great work out of everybody around them. That's Susan and Daniela. We couldn't be prouder and more excited about their promotion."

Young and Vojta were hired as group creative directors in 2013 by Joyce King Thomas, chairman and chief creative officer, McCann XBC, the agency's unit dedicated to the MasterCard business. That same year, they were named to Advertising Age's "Creatives You Should Know" and in 2016, were featured in the Adweek "Creative 100."

Young and Vojta's recent "Make What's Next" campaign for Microsoft took on stereotypes related to gender in the fields of technology and science and won an award at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. They also helped launch Microsoft Windows 10 and a patent program for young women.

Of the team’s work, Microsoft VP of Global Advertising and Media Kathleen Hall said: "It is always a pleasure to have team members recognized for their contributions. In this case, doubly so, when we have two power women bringing such great commitment, insight and creativity to our business. And, to have them both excel while delivering a baby each in the last year makes it even more special. Nothing can stop these two."

Prior to McCann, Young was a Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi and a copywriter KBS+P and Wieden + Kennedy.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Daniela previously served as Integrated Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, Associate Creative Director at KBS+P and Senior Art Director at Publicis.

The promotions come at a time of creative recognition and significant business growth for McCann. In addition to being named to Ad Age's 2016 A-List and Creative Innovators/Standout list, McCann New York ranked No. 2 in the U.S. and fourth globally at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, winning 25 total Lions, the most of any U.S. agency. Recently, the New York agency also added major new clients including Chick-Fil-A and Lysol, and grew organically with additional assignments from existing clients such as Verizon and MasterCard.
