Jellyfish Hires AOL Vet For New U.S. Creative Director Role

UK-based Jellyfish is naming Cory Hudson as U.S. creative director to help grow its accounts here. Hudson will oversee creative initiatives and services for new and existing clients, expand the U.S. creative team, and implement and leverage direct response creative best practices, says the agency.

He will oversee a team of three with plans to "dramatically" grow the department over the next year. Hudson will work out of Jellyfish's U.S. headquarters in Baltimore and report to Chief Creative Officer Mark Deeprose.

He joins UK-based Jellyfish from BannerWave, where he served as the vice president of creative technology. Previously, he spent a decade at AOL where he was the senior creative director.

In addition to his professional experience, Hudson serves as the chair for the IAB HTML5 Working Group, which established and documented HTML5 Advertising Best Practices for the digital-advertising industry.

“The opportunity to provide a boutique agency approach to clients, with the benefit of tapping into a larger global network, was what really drew me to Jellyfish,” said Hudson. “I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and bringing my experience to bear with clients and continuing to position Jellyfish as a creative powerhouse in the U.S.”

Founded in 1999, Jellyfish has offices across the U.K., South Africa and the U.S., where expansion began in 2008. It now has more than 300 employees worldwide.
