Paris-based news wire service Agence France-Presse recently filed a lawsuit against Google for copyright infringement, claiming that the search giant's news aggregator had reused headlines, summaries and photos without the wire service's permission. The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Washington, D.C., seeks damages of $17.5 million and a court order stopping Google from displaying AFP news and text without its prior consent.
