Ever Feel Like a Ferret Is Gnawing At Your Insides? Maybe It's Your Undershirt

Tommy John and its agency Preacher are introducing ""Undershirt Undoing," a new campaign to raise awareness for the underwear brand.

"Our message is simple: Don't let your undershirt be your undoing," says Rob Baird, CCO at Preacher. "Unlike the visible adjustments of underwear, fixing an undershirt is a slightly subtler undertaking."

The creative dramatizes the frustrations with ill-fitting undershirts with real live ferrets. The ad shows men in various situations, like golfing, at a political rally, and at a bar with a shirt that has a ferret underneath making the man uncomfortable. By contrast, the ad shows how Tommy John's undershirt does not bunch, stretch out, yellow, or come untucked. The spot ends with the tagline, "No Adjustment Needed."

"No other brand was speaking to this uncomfortable truth, nor offering an answer," says Josh Dean, CMO, Tommy John. "We saw an opportunity to take ownership of the problem and to showcase our patented undershirt as the ultimate solution. In typical Tommy John fashion, we took to raising awareness about a frustrating issue in a humorous yet relatable way."

The campaign includes a 60-second film, along with TV, radio, digital, print, and outdoor ads. The minute-long clip has received more than 160,900 views on YouTube. TV runs on national cable, radio runs nationally and on Sirius, print running in New York Times Style magazine and outdoor will appear in New York.

The launch of this campaign comes after Tommy John announced actor, Kevin Hart became an investor last week.
