WPP Invests In ScrollMotion

WPP has led a $6 million Series 2 round of financing in New York-based software company ScrollMotion, which helps companies create interactive content for touchscreen devices. Terms weren’t disclosed.

The company has a software unit and creative agency, ScrollMotion Blue. The software operation develops tools that help companies build and deploy interactive content while the agency works directly with clients to design apps that leverage interactive content to achieve specific business objectives.

Scrollmotion clients include Apple, Genentech, GE, JPMorgan Chase, Mary Kay and Verizon.

The software division is led by Alan Braun who left Apple to join ScrollMotion earlier this year. The creative agency is led by Doug Pierce a former COO at WPP agency POSSIBLE, and app designer Joe Zeff.

The partnership will provide WPP agencies with new ways to engage clients and their customers via the development of sales enablement apps, onboarding and training, executive presentations and large-scale touchscreen experiences among other projects.

An immediate focus for ScrollMotion will be to partner with WPP’s ghg | greyhealth group on some undisclosed projects. The companies have worked together on previous projects.

Lynn O’Connor Vos, ghg’s CEO, is now a ScrollMotion board member. “We’ve experienced firsthand how ScrollMotion can engage audiences, and we’re looking forward to leveraging ScrollMotion to help our clients deepen their engagements even further.”

Added Scrollmotion CEO Dean Furbush, “Together, we can reinvent storytelling for businesses large and small, especially taking advantage of interactive touchscreen devices."
