Chocolatier Wants You To Eat Its Advertising

Videri Chocolate Factory is celebrating its fifth anniversary with edible chocolate posters displayed at Videri, local restaurants, stores, breweries, art galleries and other places that get foot traffic in the Raleigh, N.C., area.

Developed with agency Baldwin&, the campaign first kicked off across social media on January 6 with teasers, animated GIFs and a video that documents how these 18" by 24" posters were made.

The two-pound chocolate posters were handcrafted by Videri co-CEO and chocolate maker Sam Ratto, using 70% dark craft chocolate.

Each poster bears one of three headlines, including “If only we could say Thank You in chocolate. Wait. We can” and  “Dear Raleigh, thanks for 5 amazing years. Now eat this thing before it melts.”

People can "sample" the chocolate by breaking off pieces of these posters.

T-shirts went on sale on January 11, the store's anniversary, and we'll be sold only at Videri until January 15.

“Loyal customers are already familiar with our bean-to-bar chocolate, so they’ll have no hesitation enjoying the chocolate posters," says Starr Sink Ratto, Videri co-CEO. "

We are hoping to reach new customers, too, that may have not yet met our awesome gang, toured the Factory or gotten free samples. Poster-sized samples,” added Ratto.

Baldwin& has worked with The Videri Chocolate Factory for two years on retail systems, package design and production, as well as other design projects.
