Arbitron Earnings Rise, Issues First Dividend

  • April 21, 2005
Arbitron Thursday reported first quarter revenues of $79.2 million, an increase of 3.4 percent over the first quarter of 2004. Costs and expenses rose only 2.4 percent during the quarter, despite the company's aggressive R&D efforts for the portable people meter and the Apollo project. As a result, earnings rose 2.5 percent to $32.7 million. The radio ratings company also issued its first ever quarterly dividend -- ten cents per share -- to its shareholders. -- J.M.
