Business Week Enters Blogosphere

  • April 25, 2005
BusinessWeek Friday released a blog of its own, to coincide with the release of the May 2 cover story, "Blogs will change your business." The story, by Stephen Baker and Heather Green, written in the chronological journal-style of blogs, asserts that blogs have become "the most explosive outbreak in the information world since the Internet itself." Blogs, say Baker and Green, have contributed to the ubiquity of information, whether businesses want a given piece of information circulated publicly or not. They refer to companies that have taken the right approach to blogging -- General Motors gets a thumbs up for working out its beef with the Los Angeles Times on a blog -- and companies that have slipped-up and suffered the blogosphere's ire -- as when Google was "blogbusted" for firing a young programmer for griping about the company on his blog.
