Boston Ad Vet Mark Boles Joins 451 Marketing

451 Marketing, an ad agency which bills itself as "an agency that knows it’s not about you or us, it's about THEM…Your customers!" has named Boston ad veteran Mark Boles as SVP Client Strategy and Services. Boles has been in the ad business for 25 years.

Most recently, Boles served as a business advisor and consultant to various ad agencies and management consulting firms. In other words, he was, ahem, unemployed. OK, kidding! Lots of people are consultants, right?

Prior to that, Boles served as SVP, Director of Account Services and Operations at WPP/UniWorld Group out of New York where he worked on Marriott, United States Marine Corps, Ford, CVS, Home Depot, and Three Musketeers. Boles' career also includes stints at Boston-based agency Boathouse Group, consumer market research firm Phoenix Marketing International and he was also an early member of the dot com-era TFA/Leo Burnett Technology Group.

On his approach to marketing Boles said: "Many people suggest taking a step back to gain perspective. I say get closer. Effective brand messaging comes from being intimately familiar with the factors and trends that influence buying behavior, and using that data to connect the dots and drive engagement and more importantly loyalty."

Of Boles joining the agency, 451 Marketing Founding Partner AJ Gerritson said: "We are thrilled to have someone with Mark's expertise join our senior leadership team. Mark's digitally-savvy approach to consumer engagement aligns perfectly with our agency's mission to build strategic marketing campaigns based on data and insights."

If you know what TFA stands for, you are part of the club. And it's not Total Focus Approach.
