She Runs It Teams With Amy Poehler's Smart Girls On Conference Content

She Runs It is hosting its annual What's Hot Conference on Wednesday in New York City to explore how technology and innovation will continue to disrupt the marketing and media landscape for brands and marketers.

This year, the 10-year-old event is expanding for an entire day to feature four tracks: communications, experiential, data and influencer + keynote. Historically, it’s been a keynote and one panel, says Lynn Branigan, CEO, She Runs It. "We have a richness of content and speakers. With so much disruption happening across our ecosystem – impacting every subsector – the need to stay ahead of media and consumer contact is phenomenal."

The event kicks off with a keynote from Henry Blodget, CEO/Editor-in-Chief of Business Insider, followed by sessions from industry veterans, including GE's CMO Linda Boff; JPMorgan Chase's CMO Kristin Lemkau; Diageo's VP of Johnnie Walker Stephanie Jacoby, AMEX's VP entertainment marketing and sponsorship Deborah Curtis; Cadillac's director of brand execution and digital Riyhana Bey; and Mondelez's head of new business ventures Farrah Bezner.

IAB Tech Labs will moderate a discussion featuring executives from NBCU, Time Inc, GroupM, Contently and Pixability to look inside the back-end data solutions being built by marketers.

The day will conclude with discussion featuring Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, co-founders of the Lenny media brand, as well as Lenny Letter editors Jessica Grose and Laia Garcia to discuss story-telling and creating content that matters in today's news cycle.

"What we find is that the conversations that start during the day are often the topics that you’ll hear during the networking sessions after the day is done," says Branigan.

For the first time in the event’s history, Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls is joining She Runs It as the exclusive media partner. The team will publish live content throughout the day on Smart Girls’ Instagram Stories, and will make post-event videos available on AmySmartGirls.com in the days after the conference.

Other event sponsors include AppNexus, Twitter, Audience Express, Rubicon Project, 24Seven, Business Insider, The Lily and Quantcast.

Founded in 1912 as Advertising Women of New York (formerly AWNY), She Runs It operates chapters in New York and Chicago with more than 1,800 women, men and corporate alliance partners as members.
