Marans Leaves MindShare, Joins IAG

David Marans has resigned as the top media research executive at WPP Group's MindShare unit to become an executive vice president of TV ad effectiveness researcher IAG Research. Marans, who was a senior partner and director of media research at MindShare, is the latest in a string of veteran agency researchers to move from Madison Avenue to the research supplier side. Among the most colorful agency research executives, Marans has been with WPP's MindShare and J. Walter Thompson units for 17 years. Before that, he was a senior media research executive at Young & Rubicam.
