AOL: Internet Most Popular Movie Info Source

  • June 17, 2005
The Internet has surpassed traditional sources such as newspapers and is now the preferred means of obtaining movie information, according to a study to be released today by Nielsen Entertainment and America Online's Moviefone service. More than two-thirds of the moviegoers interviewed in the survey said the Internet is a more convenient, reliable, and up-to-date resource for movie information--such as showtimes, reviews, and trailers--than television or print. The most frequent moviegoers are also the most active Internet users, the study found. More than 83 percent of moviegoers are active Web users, and spend nearly as much time online--26 percent of media time--as they do watching TV--33 percent of media time.
