The Economist has named SUSAN CLARK to the newly created position of global marketing director, responsible for development of The Economist brand, including brand advertising and public relations. Clark will oversee Economist.com, Intelligent Life magazine, and The World In magazine. In addition, she will be responsible for circulation marketing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In addition, JASON WEBBY has been appointed vice president, advertising, North America. In his role, Webby will oversee all aspects of advertising sales for The Economist in North America, in both print and online at Economist.com.
